Jak 3 Through the Ages is a multi part streaming series i wanted to put together where i’m going to go through a good chunk of the games speedrun history by reliving some of the major routes that popped up throughout the years. For this format i am dedicating one or two days to running a route from the world record history progression sheet first in a restricted format where i stick to techniques and glitches found only during that time and follow the route shown in the wr vods mostly to a tee. (For example until the hover glitch is discovered in the timeline i cannot incorporate it in the restricted routes) And then afterwards i’m going to be exploring a potential alternate history where the same general route was never improved upon but every other discovery is on the table. So for example in lapogne’s hero mode route he goes and does tokens, in this unrestricted "alt history" route i can clip through the door to rotator and hover up to the end of the mission.

“Disclaimer” for “restricted” not everything will be 1:1

The routes i choose are obviously going to be arbitrary but the criteria i looked for while choosing was roughly about

  1. The uniqueness of the route/significant changes to route | obviously if the only change between a chunk of time was a single hover or corner cut or 10 second timesave it probably wont have its own dedicated day
  2. Fun/Wow Factor | This is just a little for fun “event” i wanted to put on so things that werent super interesting may not have made the cut, for example if a hero mode route change was copied over to any% without any major difference.
  3. Time passed | when starting out with planning i wanted to aim for each year being represented when applicable

Currently chosen routes at time of writing

For Hero Mode which i will be focusing on first.
